A Smart Way to Stay Ahead of New Shopping Concepts
The Problem
A packaged goods manufacturer wanted to develop a way for its marketing and sales teams to stay ahead of new and innovative ways to attract shoppers, and incorporate them into their retail programs.
The Approach
We proposed a local Retail Safari, using our extensive database of innovative shopping concepts. Executives were briefed on what they would see and provided with a Shopper Blueprint to help them map and record their experiences. At the conclusion of the daylong trip, we facilitated a team discussion of what they learned and how to apply it to their business. A month later, we facilitated a BrainStorming session with Safari attendees and other executives to develop concepts and programs to implement at retail.
The Result
The client identified new merchandising and packaging ideas to apply to their business, and successfully executed several of these with key retail partners. Retail Safaris have now become a regular part of the client's brand development process.
